Tequesta is a peaceful Palm Beach County village with waterfront homes along the Loxahatchee River and Intracoastal Waterway. Tequesta was first developed in the 1950s as a master-planned community surrounding Tequesta Country Club. The real estate mix includes condominium complexes, refined riverfront and lakeside neighborhoods, and gated golf course communities. Many of Tequesta’s waterfront properties offer private docks and boat lifts. Tequesta offers a lifestyle centered on recreation with outstanding golfing and boating. The village is located alongside U.S. Highway 1 with convenient access to other coastal destinations.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

U.S. Highway 1 runs north to south through Tequesta with many inviting restaurants and coffee shops on the surrounding streets. Evo Italian offers swanky white-tablecloth Italian fine dining inside and a patio for dining al fresco. The refined cooking at Evo matches the sophisticated setting, pairing creative interpretations of classic Italian recipes with a wine list spanning over 250 vintages. Other good Italian dining choices in Tequesta include family-friendly Vulcano’s, romantic date night destination Romeo-n-Juliette’s Caffe, and combined restaurant, market, and deli Lynora’s. Krave is a chic chef-driven dining destination serving contemporary American cuisine with global influences. Krave is located at the County Line Plaza where other businesses include a Publix supermarket for grocery shopping. Gallery Square North combines art and commerce with an Artists’ Studio & Gallery plus several shops and restaurants. The Gallery Grille is a popular breakfast and lunch spot with indulgent Sunday brunch specials. Tequesta Shoppes features retailers such as Bealls Outlet and restaurants including Josco Bar & Oven. Josco’s is a trendy industrial-chic space with perfect hearth-baked pizzas, craft cocktails, and frequent live music performances. Hog Snappers is a funky favorite for creative sushi and seafood served in a casual tiki bar setting. Tequesta’s waterfront location is a big part of the community’s appeal and West Marine is well-stocked with gear for making the most of it. Items on sale at West Marine include boating parts and accessories, plus all manner of fishing equipment and supplies.

Things to Do

The contoured fairways and elevated greens of the golf course at Tequesta Country Club provide challenging play for golfers of all skill levels. This picturesque golf course overlooks the Loxahatchee River to both the east and west. Just north of Tequesta Country Club, Turtle Creek and Riverbend golf clubs both offer exceptional courses and enchanting river views. Jupiter Hills Club has a golf course ranked by Golf Digest among the top 125 in the country. Jupiter Hills has two 18-hole courses plus a state-of-the-art fitness center and other first-class amenities. Jonathan Dickinson State Park is an enormous natural area covering 11,500 acres, with a wide variety of habitat areas and recreational opportunities. Popular activities at the park include biking, hiking, and horseback riding on miles of paved and off-road trails, camping at seven campgrounds, river fishing and swimming, and exploring the Loxahatchee River by canoe, kayak, or tour boat. Wildlife at the park include alligators, bobcats, deer, foxes, otters, raccoons, turtles, and over 150 bird species. There is also a nature center with lots of programs for children and families. Boats can anchor at the Tequesta Sandbar in the clear waters of the Intracoastal Waterway to relax and socialize. Tequesta Park, close to the banks of the Indian River, has a lighted baseball field as well as lighted courts for tennis and basketball.
